HOW TO HELP YOUR BODY HEAL ITSELF:

Traditional Chinese Medical Topics - Classical Homeopathic Topics

Classical Homeopathic Topics:

Central to Homeopathic philosophy is the principle of self-cure, the idea that health is not merely the absence of symptoms but a dynamic state of equilibrium, both mental and physical, in which an individual is able to establish and maintain health without dependence on drugs, doctors or any therapy.

It is the process toward freedom and independence, an increased consciousness and capacity to engage life on all levels.

Traditional Chinese Medical Topics:

This year we are offering several seminars to educate and empower patients to look after themselves and their pets in a pro-active manner, using food as the main treatment modality.

Since the earliest times, Chinese people have been concerned about their daily food consumption. Even today, they consider it a first line of treatment for all body imbalances. It is common for the Chinese to treat illness with a specially prepared meal or by including a particular ingredient in a dish or soup in order to rebuild body integrity and function. Working within this paradigm, my soup-drinking patients recover their health quickly and are able to maintain a high level of vitality. The stock for these soups is easy to make in advance and can be stored in the freezer until needed.

The following seminars are based on this ancient model of healing. If the title includes a soup, samples of that broth will be served. Handouts outlining dietary suggestions are included along with the recipe for each soup listed. Cost is $10. unless otherwise indicated.

FALL SCHEDULE:
“Chinese Soup For Women's Hormonal Health”
Attendees will learn how to make a soup that helps women of all ages recover their natural hormonal health and menstrual vitality. Therapeutic uses include irregular cycles, pain or cramping, absence of menstruation, late or scanty periods, endometriosis, fibroids, cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility and menopausal difficulties. Due to the rarity of some ingredients, packages of the raw herbal materials will be available for sale.

“Self Help Methods that Defeat Insomnia”
Nothing is worse than not sleeping well. When our minds won't shut off and we can't get to sleep, or we wake up too easily, or our slumbers are disturbed by overly vivid dreams, nothing is right. We are tired, moody, and short tempered. Our muscles stiffen, our heads hurt and our abilities to focus on daily tasks are severely compromised. Often we experience additional symptoms such as heart palpitations, ear ringing, low back and knee pain, light-headed sensations and flushes of heat.

Chinese medical theory attributes these sufferings to dysfunctions or imbalances in the working dynamics of key functional substances (Qi, Blood, Yin, Yang, Jing, Shen) within the body mind and spirit. Addressing the disparities within these elements can rebalance the energy pathways of the body and render sleeplessness a thing of the past. During this seminar, Melinda will present simple self-help methods involving acupressure points, diet and breathing exercises that when practiced diligently will ensure a wonderful night's sleep. Cost is $10.
